Ugaris — The Legend Recovered is a free MMORPG built on the Astonia 3 engine and evolved far beyond it: a hand-drawn isometric world, two classes that grow into many builds, quests, clans, random dungeons to level 200, an Auction House, parties and companions. See the story and the world.

Through Steam only. Add it to your library, press Play, and the launcher opens. There is no separate download; Steam keeps everything current. Full walkthrough: Steam, the Launcher and Mods.

Windows and Linux, including the Steam Deck (with full controller navigation). macOS is not part of this release.

Modest. The client uses a modern GPU renderer (Vulkan, Direct3D 11/12 or Metal), so any graphics hardware from the last decade with current drivers is enough, along with a 64-bit Windows 10+ or Linux system and about a gigabyte of disk space. The Steam Deck runs it natively.

Press Play in Steam and choose Sign in with Steam in the launcher — an account is created for you. Prefer e-mail? Register here or in the launcher, then log in with e-mail and password. Both kinds of account can be linked to Steam later from the dashboard.

Yes. Downloading and playing is free, there is no subscription, and nothing that affects gameplay is sold. The account dashboard offers a few paid services — character rename, moving a character to another account, karma reduction, unlocking or restoring a character, a gender change, clan rename, clan leadership transfer and rescuing a stuck character — and the project welcomes Patreon support.

You start as a Warrior or a Mage. The Seyan'Du, who walks both paths, is earned in play, and every class has an Arch form. Read Stats, Values and Skills and Attributes.

Eleven trades taught at Aston University — Herbalist, Miner, Trader, Master of Light or Dark, Clan Master and more — bought with profession points. They are separate from your class. See the Professions Guide.

Kill creatures and complete quests to earn experience, then spend it on skills, spells and stats. The total experience for a level is level4; the Experience page has the table. Parties share kill experience, and the Journal tracks every quest.

Yes. Form a party of up to five (or find one in the Party Finder), join or found a clan, and trade in the Auction House. Companions even pool their gifts across a party.

Hand items over directly (Ctrl+click a player while holding an item), or use the Auction House, which reaches every player in the realm — online or offline — with bids, buyouts and deliveries. There is no right-click "Trade" window.

Yes, opt-in. Enable player-killer mode with /playerkiller and manage whom you fight with /hate. Arenas exist for consequence-free duels. Rules are in Rules and Regulations.

Hardcore is a choice at character creation: 30 % more kill experience and 10 % more military experience, but no saves, so dying costs far more experience. It is not permadeath. See Hardcore vs Softcore.

Log in with e-mail on the dashboard or in the launcher and choose Link Steam. From then on Steam signs you in. If a Steam sign-in already created a fresh account, you are offered a merge: pick which account's details to keep and all characters end up together.

Linking or merging your own accounts through Steam moves everything for free. Moving a single character to a different account is one of the paid services on the dashboard.

Use Forgot password; you will receive an e-mail with a reset link. Steam users can also just sign in with Steam and set a new password afterwards.

Yes, from Account Security on the dashboard. The change is confirmed from your old address and verified from the new one before it takes effect.

Steam updates the client, the launcher and the content pack automatically. Mods installed through the launcher update from Mods → Update All.

First check server status. Then verify the game files through Steam and update your graphics drivers. In the launcher, Options → System → Open Log Folder collects logs for support; in game, Options → Video lets you force a different renderer or cap the FPS. Still stuck? Ask on Discord.

Keybindings, options, per-character window layouts and mod settings live in your user profile, not in the game folder — Steam updates and "verify integrity" never touch them.

Change your password on the dashboard at once, then contact the staff on Discord. Staff will never ask for your password.

No. Ugaris is a desktop game for Windows, Linux and the Steam Deck.

Be civil in chat, play the game yourself (no bots), do not exploit bugs, no real-money trading, and use extra accounts only where they give no unfair advantage. The full code, including the karma penalties, is in Rules and Regulations.

Yes. The launcher installs client mods from the official registry — Gains Tracker, Quest Guide, Radar & Nameplates, Skill Planner, Combat Text, Notebook — and you can write your own. Mods assist you; anything that plays the game for you is botting. See Steam, the Launcher and Mods.

Continuously — the Steam update alone brought a new client, launcher, the Auction House, Journal, parties and companions. Every release is listed on the changelog and announced on Discord.

No wipes are planned. The Steam update moved characters, clans and accounts from the old memory dumps into proper database tables; that migration keeps every character exactly as it was.
