Parties & Party Finder

Hunt together, share the spoils of battle, and find companions from anywhere in the realm.

Overview

A party binds up to five adventurers together: shared kill experience, a live roster with health and mana, on-screen party frames, waypoint pings, and a chat channel of its own. Parties follow thee across area borders, and a member who logs out keeps their place for 30 minutes before being pruned from the roster. If a party shrinks below two members it dissolves on its own, and should the leader vanish, leadership passes to a member who is still online.

Members must be within reach of each other in level: the gap between any two members may be at most 3 levels, or one tenth of the level — whichever is greater. So low-level parties are held to ±3, while a level 80 may share with a level 72. A member who outgrows the band entirely is given 5 levels of grace, then removed from the party automatically.

Forming and running a party

Everything works by command, and most of it also from the Party window — press P or pick the Party icon from the menus bar. The window shows the roster with live health and mana for members in thy area, a star for the leader, an invite-by-name field, and Leave / Roll / Disband buttons, with Kick and Promote at the leader's fingertips. Invitations arrive as a popup with a countdown.

Command Effect
/party invite <name> Invite a player. Works on anyone in thy area within 25 tiles, or by exact name anywhere in the world. The invitation expires after 120 seconds.
/party accept Accept a pending party invitation.
/party decline Decline a pending party invitation.
/party leave Leave thy current party.
/party disband Dissolve the party (leader only).
/party kick <name> Remove a member (leader only).
/party promote <name> Hand leadership to another member (leader only). /party leader works too.
/party roll [max] Roll a die for the whole party to see (1–100 by default) — settle loot disputes honourably.
/party readycheck Ask every member to confirm they are ready. Members answer with /party ready or /party notready.
/party ready Answer a ready check: ready.
/party notready Answer a ready check: not ready.
/party list Print the roster. /party info works too.
/p <text> Speak on the party chat channel.

Shared experience

Parties share kill experience only — quest, mission and mining experience always stays with the one who earned it. When a member slays a foe:

  • The killer earns a togetherness bonus on top of the normal kill experience: 5 % with one eligible partymate nearby, growing by 3 % for each further fighter (5 / 8 / 11 / 14 %), capped at 15 %.
  • Every eligible member nearby is minted 10 % of the killer's actual gain — new experience, not taken from the killer.

"Eligible" means: same party, same area, within 25 tiles of the kill, and within the level band described above. The party frames show a warning mark on any member who is currently not sharing experience with thee, so thou canst see at a glance when someone has strayed too far.

Companions pool their gifts too: when party members walk with companions at their side, every member's pet gifts are pooled for the whole party — the strongest gift per stat counts for everyone (up to five pooled stats). Utility pets that have reached their top level serve the whole party as well: the Nurse heals, the Cleric Fairy blesses and the Loot Goblin fetches for any member nearby.

Party frames, pings and marks

  • Party frames sit on thy screen for every member: a class glyph, level, health and mana bars, a condition dot, and the exp-sharing warning. Click a frame to light a short locate beacon on that member. The frames can be toggled and tuned (mana bars, compact mode) in the UI options.
  • F9 arms ping mode (press F9 again to disarm): thy next click on the map places a waypoint ping that every member sees. Any member may ping. When the leader clicks on a creature instead, a mark is placed on that target — it lasts up to two minutes and clears when the target dies. A right-click while armed clears the waypoint.
  • Edge arrows point toward partymates who are off thy screen — the arrow turns red if that member is dead.

The Party Finder

No more shouting into the void: leaders can post their party with a title and a level band, and anyone, anywhere in the world, can browse the listings and apply. The leader accepts or declines from a popup or from the queue in the Party window's Finder tab — the applicant need not stand in the same area at all. If thou hadst applications pending when logging out, a note awaits thee at the next login.

Command Effect
/party lfg Browse the current party listings.
/party lfg post [min-max] <title> Post thy party with a title and an optional level band (the band is clamped to what thy party could actually accept). Leader only. Listings expire after 2 hours.
/party lfg unpost Take thy listing down.
/party lfg apply <leader> [note] Apply to a listed party, with an optional note for the leader.
/party lfg apps Review applications to thy listing (leader).
/party lfg accept <name> Accept an applicant (leader).
/party lfg decline <name> Decline an applicant (leader).

Tips

  • Stay close — the 25-tile rule is measured from the kill. A partymate looting two rooms away earns nothing from thy victories.
  • The togetherness bonus rewards fighting together, not merely being grouped. Four fighters converging on the same pack is the best experience in the game.
  • Posting on the Party Finder with an honest level band fills a party far faster than gossip-channel recruiting — applicants from every area can see it.
  • Use /party roll before splitting a rare drop; everyone sees the same roll.
