The Game Interface
The world fills the whole window; everything else is a window or a plate thou canst move, hide, lock, minimize and resize.
Overview
The client draws the world across the entire window — no black side bars — with a view of 81 × 81 tiles. The interface floats on top. Each part is either a window (has a title bar, can be closed) or a plate (a frameless HUD element). Both can be dragged, snap to the screen edges and to each other, can never be lost off-screen, and remember their place per character.
- Window titles show the key that toggles them — "Inventory (B) 18/60".
- Minimize a window into its title bar; Minimize Windows Upward is for windows parked above the hotbar.
- The padlock on a window, or Lock GUI Layout in Options, freezes positions.
- Alt+Z hides the whole interface for a clean view of the world.
- Escape closes whatever is open first, and only then opens the menu.

Scale and text
UI Scale runs from 50 % to 200 % and applies live — only the interface scales, the world stays pixel-perfect. Optional TrueType text comes with a font chooser and a text size of 80–115 %. Settings, keybindings, layouts and mod settings live in thy user profile, so Steam updates and "verify integrity" never wipe them.
Chat
Chat is a translucent, resizable plate with tabs: All, Gossip, Info, Auction, Grats, Party and Tell by default, more on demand, each with an unread badge. The input follows the WoW model: Enter focuses the line, Enter on an empty line leaves it, Escape discards what thou wert typing. Up/Down walk the history, Tab cycles thy recent tell partners, PageUp/PageDown scroll back.
- Keywords in messages are links: click to insert, Shift-click to send. Sender names start a tell; URLs open or copy.
- Right-click a tab for its menu; opacity, timestamps and large text are in the chat settings.
-
Speak on a channel without switching tabs with
/c<N> text;#chat show|hide|toggle|layoutmanage the window.
Minimap and World Map
The minimap is frameless and textured with the real terrain. Click it to flip between the round map and the big square map, zoom with the mouse wheel, pan the big map with a right-drag, and use the glyph to recentre. It marks NPCs, merchants and party members, remembers townsfolk thou hast met, and reveals sections of a region as thou reachest them.
The World Map window (N) is the painted map of the world that teleporters also open — see The World Atlas.
Progress bars and orbs
The Progress plate shows thy level and military standing as two segmented bars. Click to cycle between percent, have/need and to-go; hover for exact numbers. All forty military ranks up to Avatar of Astonia are named; before thy first honour it reads "no rank yet".
The Speed plate holds three orbs for stealth, normal and fast walking; the Effects plate shows thy active self-spells as four glowing orbs with time rings, and the rage meter.

Loading and connecting
A real loading screen shows every stage — graphics, sounds, mods, connecting, logging in, loading the world — with a progress bar. Problems are explained in plain words (server down or restarting, server full, another character of thy account still in the world, wrong password, connection lost), and when waiting makes sense the client counts down and logs in again by itself. A tag at the top of the screen tells thee when thou art on a PREPROD or DEV server; the live server shows nothing.
